Martinsville in September in a truck. Can there be anything more fun?
Other that, say, diving into a swimming pool filled with double edged razor blades?
Spark laid down a blistering (for a truck) 21.9 lap in practice and backed it up by taking the pole with a 22.3 and the race was on!
For 2 laps.
Then Hoggy forgot where his brake pedal was and smashed into Sparky's bumper in turn 1.
Krusty called for a restart so he could safely laugh his ass off without wreckin.
And they're off! Spark out front with PunkAss right behind, Krusty on the inside and Hog.......hits the wall comin outta 2 for a yellow!
And they're off (again!) with Spark out front, and PunkAss spins goin into 1 for another yellow.
One More Time! Spark out front, PunkAss testin the inside lane, Hoggy ridin Punk's bumper and Krusty way back due to his late pit stop. Spark gets loose in 4 and PunkAss and Hog take advantage. Hog finds his way past Punk for the lead. Punk got too low in 1, glanced off the inside wall, spun around, tagged the outside wall and got sideways where Spark had no choice but to T-bone his truck.
Punk got back on track, but Spark's front end was all puckered up, so he had to limp around the track with no steering and got a lap down.
Green flag! Carbo Bob (HOG) out front, but PunkAss knockin at the door. Carbo got loose on the back stretch and Punk cruised on by. Krusty was sittin a quarter lap back and gainin ground. Spark was pretty much resigned to 4th place at a lap n a half back.
Hog got loose goin past the flag stand n spun around smokin his tires all over the track. Krusty, using his new "Joe Bumperchek" pseudonym, couldn't see squat through the smoke, ducked to the low sde thinkin the spun truck was high but it was low and the impact was enormous! Both vehicles had to be towed off the track and Krusty n Hog spent the next 65 laps in the "Hecklers' Booth" providing color commentary.
That left Spark n PunkAss to duke it out for the win. Spark got lucky and gained his lap back by passin the pace truck before the line and continued around the track to get in behind Punk.
Spark's pit driver knocked Punk outta his pit box and he had to go to green on his old tires. This proved costly as he spun comin outta 4 and Spark took over the point and led the race to the checkers.
Results:
1st - Spark
2nd - PunkAss
3rd - Krusty
4th - Hoggy
Spark got both the pole and laps bonuses.
